Leipzig doesn’t do big plans. People meet on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, which everyone just calls the Karli, move on to a backyard where someone has opened a bar, and at some point end up by the canal in Plagwitz. Many old factories in the west are now studios, stages and pubs.

In summer everyone heads to the lakes in the south, above all the Cospudener See, which everyone here calls the Cossi. At Whitsun the Wave-Gotik-Treffen brings guests from all over the world, and for the rest of the year the evenings belong to pubs, small clubs and living room concerts.

That is exactly why YesTonite fits Leipzig: no matching, no days of back and forth. You see who else is out tonight, and the rest takes care of itself.

Weekends are busiest, but the Karli is lively during the week too. Clubs usually only fill up after midnight.
