Another Kölsch? But not alone.

Cologne talks to everyone

In Cologne you get chatting at the bar in no time. The Köbes (the brewhouse waiter) keeps putting down fresh glasses of Kölsch, the local beer, until you lay a beer mat on top, and by the third one the person next to you knows which Veedel (neighbourhood) you are from.

Going out here means a brewhouse in the Old Town, a pub in your own Veedel, then on to the Belgian Quarter, the Zülpicher or Ehrenfeld. In summer people sit on the banks of the Rhine, from 11 November the city goes carnival-crazy, and on Weiberfastnacht all of Cologne parties in the street.

Still, everyone knows one problem: you chat with everybody, but you can’t tell who is actually up for an evening for two. YesTonite shows you with a green dot, and one message is enough.

Friday and Saturday are the big nights, and the Zülpicher is busy on Thursdays too. Street carnival has its own rules: the evening starts in the morning.
