The best places to meet singles in Tulum are Vagalume Beach Club, Bonbonniere Tulum, and Batey Mojito & Guarapo Bar. Go on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening, when they are at their liveliest and it is easiest to start a conversation.
Tulum is small and split in two: the town, where people live, eat cheaply and go out on the main street, and the beach zone along the coast road, with beach clubs, boutique hotels and pricier dinners. Many people are travelling or have just moved here, so new faces are normal everywhere.

A lively, affordable open-air bar in town, famous for mojitos and fresh sugarcane juice pressed in an old VW Beetle, with live music most nights. Locals, expats and travellers share the tables, and it is one of the easiest places in Tulum to start talking.
