The best places to meet singles in Cancún are Mandala Beach Club, La Vaquita, and Abolengo. Go on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening, when they are at their liveliest and it is easiest to start a conversation.
Cancún has two sides. The Hotel Zone is a long strip of beaches, beach clubs and party bars full of visitors who are there to have fun and happy to talk. Downtown is where people who live here eat, dance and watch football, and it feels much more local.

A day club on the sand with pools, a jacuzzi and DJs, open every day from 11:00 to 17:30. Groups of travellers sit side by side around the pools, so chatting with the next lounger is normal. On Wednesday nights it turns into a separate pool party from 22:00.

A loud, open-fronted party bar with cow-print decor, big drinks and hip hop, top 40 and reggaeton, Thursday to Sunday from 21:30 to 03:00. Everyone is there to dance and the crowd mixes easily. Smart-casual dress code: no caps, swimwear or flip-flops.

A mix of classic Mexican cantina and cocktail bar, open every night from 18:00 to 03:00, with Latin hits, oldies and requests. It starts as dinner and drinks and turns into singing along at the tables, which makes it easy to fall into conversation.

A famous party restaurant in the middle of the Hotel Zone, open daily from 11:00 to 03:00. It is touristy and proud of it, with games, dancing on the floor and a crowd from all over the world, so it works as the first stop of a night out.

Salsa night (weekly)Supermanzana 3$$30s
Every Wednesday from 20:00 to midnight a live band plays salsa, merengue, cumbia and bachata. You do not need a partner and people ask each other to dance, which makes it one of the easiest ways to meet people in town. Arrive early for a table near the dance floor.

A big downtown market, open daily from 09:00 to 20:00, with souvenir stalls and a central food court where people eat side by side. Cheaper than the Hotel Zone and a good daytime plan with new friends. Expect to bargain.

Cancún FC play second-division football here, and tickets are cheap. A home match is an easy group outing with locals, with chants, snacks and beer in a small stadium that is rarely full.
