Straight from the sauna to Hämeenkatu?

Tampere calls itself the sauna capital of the world, and many evenings do start in the steam. From there it is on to Hämeenkatu and the bars in the centre, and everything is within walking distance: over the Tammerkoski rapids, via Tammela square and back.

As a student city, Manse is lively on weekdays too, and during the semester even a Wednesday can run late. In summer evenings move to Laukontori and the lakeshores, in winter the city splits into the ice hockey colours of Ilves and Tappara. And a doughnut at Pyynikki is a good start to almost any date.

Friday and Saturday are the biggest nights, but students keep Wednesdays and Thursdays lively. People often only head out after ten.
