Prague over a beer and beyond

In Prague a night often starts with "just the one" and ends somewhere else entirely. A pub on the corner is a given, and an evening can easily drift from Žižkov to Vinohrady, on to Karlín and finally into the centre. At weekends the Old Town belongs to tourists and stag parties, so locals tend to stay in their own neighbourhoods.

Summer belongs to the river and the parks: on Náplavka people sit by the water until dark, and from Letná you can see the whole city. In winter evenings retreat into cellar bars and cafés that turn into bars after dark. Czechs are said to be a bit reserved, but by the second beer that usually breaks.
