Busan nights head to the sea
In Busan the night always ends up by the sea. Dinner in Seomyeon and round two on Gwangalli beach, or a drink on Haeridan-gil and then a walk on Haeundae's sand. It is a lot more laid-back than Seoul, but once a Busan night gets going, it goes all the way.
Ever heard that Busan people are blunt? Once you talk to them, many turn out warm and honest. The hard part is starting the conversation. On YesTonite one message to someone going out tonight is enough. No need to beat around the bush; just decide where to meet tonight.
On Friday and Saturday nights Seomyeon and Gwangalli are the busiest. In summer beach walks go on until late, and even in winter plenty of people come out to see the sea at night.
Popular neighbourhoods in Busan
- SeomyeonBusan's biggest nightlife district. Bars, restaurants and karaoke all packed together, so rounds one to three happen in one neighbourhood.
- Jeonpo Cafe StreetTool shop alleys next to Seomyeon turned into cafes and bars. Lots of atmospheric spots for round two.
- GwangalliA beach where you can drink with a view of Gwangan Bridge lit up at night, lined with bars and raw fish restaurants.
- Haeridan-gilNear Haeundae beach, behind the old Haeundae Station, small restaurants and bars gathered in the back alleys.
- Kyungsung and Pukyong University areaA student area with cheap bars and alleys that stay busy until late.
- Nampo-dongThe old town near BIFF Square and Gukje Market, full of street food and long-standing shops.
How it works: three steps.
