new in Malta

Everyone knows everyone? Not your name.

In Malta you go out once and bump into someone who knows your cousin. On YesTonite your name stays hidden until you choose to share it: see who nearby is out tonight, send one message and meet the same night.

Nightlife in Malta

Malta is small, but its nights have many faces. In Paceville and St Julian's the clubs stay open until sunrise; in Valletta, Strait Street, once the sailors' street, is now full of wine bars and live music; and along the Sliema and Gżira seafront the evening starts with a drink facing the sea.

In summer there is a village festa somewhere every weekend: brass bands, fireworks, food and people out in the streets until late. And after a long night out, there is always a hot pastizz before heading home.

The catch is that in a country this small everyone knows everyone, and few make the first move in a bar. YesTonite gets past that worry: switch on "I'm going out tonight", see who nearby is out and send a message. You decide when to share your name.

Friday and Saturday are the big nights, and in summer every night counts. Many eat around nine and go out after ten; Paceville fills up after midnight.

Where Malta goes out

  • PacevilleThe heart of the nightlife, with clubs and bars next to each other until sunrise.
  • St Julian'sSpinola Bay and the seafront road, for a drink and a meal before going out.
  • Strait Street, VallettaThe old sailors' street: today wine bars, jazz and people outside until late.
  • Sliema and GżiraThe long seafront with bars and happy hours facing Marsamxett Harbour.
  • BirguThe waterfront facing the Grand Harbour, for a quieter evening.

How it works: three steps.

  1. Say you're out

Switch on "out tonight" and you get a green dot. It turns off by itself in the morning.

  2. Send one message

See a photo and an age, say something, and the chat opens for both of you. No matching first.

  3. Meet tonight

Pick a place, or join an event nearby. Same evening, not three weeks of small talk.

Events anyone can host

On YesTonite anyone 18 or over can host an event: a drink on Strait Street, a swim and sunset at Għajn Tuffieħa, a walk along the Sliema seafront or a board game night in Gżira. Open events you join straight away; for closed ones you request a spot and the address unlocks once you are in.

Questions, answered

Is YesTonite really new in Malta?

Yes. We have only just started, so this is the very beginning. The people you see are real members who chose to be visible; we never invent profiles or numbers.

Can everyone see my name?

No. The feed only shows a photo, age and approximate distance. Your name only appears in a chat, when you choose to share it.

Can I meet someone tonight?

That is the idea. Switch on "I'm going out tonight", see who else is out, send a message and agree where. The first time, meet in a public, busy place, like a bar in St Julian's or on Strait Street.

Is it free?

Yes. Signing up, browsing, the free new chats every day and every reply are free; extras are optional. The app is available in 44 languages.

The first message is yours to send.

Free, 18+, any gender, solo or as a couple. Your first message opens the chat.
