In Tokyo, every station is a different night

A Tokyo night usually starts after work with a first round of draft beer. Some people raise a glass under the railway arches in Shimbashi, others open a bottle of wine in an Ebisu side street, and others drift from a gig in Shimokitazawa to a tiny bar. It is all Tokyo, yet one station over the mood of the night changes completely.

Meeting someone new is another story. You wait for a friend to introduce you, or hope for the occasional group date or drinks party. Install an app and you trade messages for days, only for it to end with "another time". Everyone is busy, and calendars are often full two weeks ahead.
