Sarajevo, once dusk falls
In Sarajevo everything starts with coffee. In Baščaršija people sit for hours over a little fildžan cup and good conversation, and once dusk falls the crowd drifts down Ferhadija and Maršala Tita towards the bars in the centre. Along the Miljacka there's the Vilsonovo šetalište promenade, and at weekends people stay out late.
In August the Sarajevo Film Festival turns the city into one big terrace, and in winter people ski Jahorina or Bjelašnica by day and come back to town at night. Mostar has its own rhythm: in summer it stays hot until midnight, the Old Bridge and the cafés along the Neretva are full, and the bridge divers always have an audience.
