Yes, Miami is good for dating if you like to meet people in person and go out late, and less good if you are on a tight budget. In our 2026 City Index it scores 6.0 out of 10 overall, 4th of the 20 US cities we track, helped by year-round warm weather and bars open until 5am or later. Its weak spots are the cost of a date and safety at night.
Updated November 2026. Numbers come from the YesTonite City Index, which covers 157 cities.
Miami's dating scores at a glance
Scores run from 1 to 10, and tied cities share a rank.

- Meeting in real life: 7.8, joint 3rd in the US.
- Late nights: 8.2, joint 3rd in the US.
- Sunshine: 9.4, 5th of 157 worldwide, with about 3,150 sunshine hours a year.
- Open to dating: 6.8, joint 39th worldwide. This score rests on national survey data, so all 20 US cities share it. It says little about Miami itself.

- Date budget: 3.3, joint 12th in the US and joint 135th worldwide.
What Miami's dating scene does well
The city makes it easy to meet someone without a screen. Dancing does a lot of the work: Ball & Chain on Calle Ocho has live Latin music and free salsa lessons, and partner dancing means talking to strangers is the point. The weather helps too. With warm months all year, a walk or a sunset is a real plan in any season, though outdoor dates work best in the morning, at sunset or between November and April.
The crowd is broad as well. Miami has a median age of 38.8, about 99 women per 100 men, and 41.7% of people counted as single in the local statistics (definitions vary between cities). Plenty of people are newcomers themselves, so asking where someone is from is an easy opener.
Where Miami falls short
- Cost: two beers and two cappuccinos come to about €25, and dinner for two to about €107. Some restaurants already add a service charge, so check the bill before you tip.
- Distance: Brickell, Wynwood and Miami Beach are far apart in traffic. Pick one area per evening, because a date with a long drive in the middle rarely recovers.
- Late starts: bars fill up after 10pm. If you prefer an easy conversation, go during happy hour.
- Safety at night: the low score is a reason for normal care. Meet somewhere public, tell a friend where you are, and take a rideshare home.
