Toronto, off the calendar
Toronto runs on calendars. Dinner reservations two weeks ahead, friends who are slammed until the long weekend, a drink pencilled in for some Thursday next month that gets moved twice. Everyone's grinding, and spontaneity is the first thing to go.
Which is a shame, because the city is great on short notice. Toronto is a patchwork of neighbourhoods, each with its own strip: Ossington and Dundas West for small bars, College Street through Little Italy, Queen East in Leslieville, King West when you want it loud. In summer the whole city lives on patios; in winter it piles into cosy bars, live shows and anywhere with the Leafs or the Raptors on.
YesTonite only does tonight. See who's out near you, send one message, and if they're in, you have a plan before anyone opens a calendar.
Thursday to Saturday are the big nights. Last call in Ontario is 2 a.m., so plenty of evenings only get going after 10.
Where Toronto goes out

- Dundas WestBars, live music and late food running west toward Roncesvalles.
- College StreetLittle Italy's patios and bars, busy all summer long.
- LeslievilleQueen Street East's neighbourhood bars, a calmer night east of downtown.
- Church-Wellesley VillageThe city's LGBTQ+ village, lively most nights and huge during Pride in June.
How it works: three steps.
Say you're out
Switch on "out tonight" and you get a green dot. It turns off by itself in the morning.
Send one message
See a photo and an age, say something, and the chat opens for both of you. No matching first.
Meet tonight
Pick a place, or join an event nearby. Same evening, not three weeks of small talk.
Events anyone can host
Got a favourite patio, a trivia night you never miss or a band people should see? Anyone 18+ can host an event on YesTonite: a pub crawl down Ossington, a board game night, a Sunday walk along the waterfront or over to the Island. Open ones people join right away; for closed ones guests request a spot and the address stays private until they're in.
For local creators and venues
Toronto creators, food and nightlife pages, bar owners and event organisers: share your own YesTonite link and earn a fixed amount for every new customer who joins through it. Payouts are monthly.
