Is YesTonite free? What you get without paying

Short answer: yes. YesTonite is free to use. You can sign up, set up your profile, browse the feed, start new chats every day and reply to every message without paying anything. There are a few optional extras for people who want them, but there are no subscriptions and nothing that renews automatically.

What's free

• Sign-up. Create your account with e-mail or Google, on the app or the web.
• Your profile. Photos, age, sign and your interest for tonight.
• The feed. Browse people nearby with every filter (sign, age range and distance) and both sort options, Online first and Out tonight first.
• Out tonight. Switch on the green dot whenever you're up for plans.
• Free new chats every day. Your allowance refreshes at midnight in your local time.
• Replies, always. Once a chat is open, both people can write as much as they like.
• Chat features. Send up to 3 photos per message, edit your last message within an hour and share your name when you're ready.
• Events. Browse events, join or request a spot, and host your own. Most events are free; a host can set an entry price for theirs, and you always see it before you join.
• Safety tools. Blocking and reporting are never behind a paywall.
• Deleting your account. You can leave at any time.

How free new chats work

On YesTonite there are no matches and no swiping. You see someone you'd like to meet, send one message and the chat opens for both of you. Starting a conversation like that uses one of your free new chats for the day.

When someone messages you, replying is always free and never uses your allowance. That means anyone who receives a message can always answer, whether or not they ever pay for anything.

When the allowance refreshes

Invite friends for free chats

You can share your personal invite link with friends. Friends who join through it get free chats, which makes their first evening on YesTonite a little easier.

Optional extras

If you want more, you can buy small one-off extras. They're entirely optional, and you always see the price before you confirm.

• More new chats. Buy a pack of extra new chats for a busy evening, or unlimited new chats until midnight.
• Hide your profile. Take a break for 1, 7 or 30 days without closing your account. You can come back whenever you like.

That's it. Everything else, from the feed and filters to safety tools, is the same for everyone.

No subscriptions

There's no monthly plan to cancel and nothing that renews automatically. You pay only when you decide you want an extra, for that extra, once. If you never buy anything, you can still use YesTonite every day.

Thoughtful first messages

Limiting new chats each day encourages people to write when they actually want to talk. Messages feel more personal and less like a numbers game. It's part of the same idea behind our dating app without matches.

Nobody is stuck

Keeping replies free means nobody is ever stuck in a conversation they can't answer. If someone writes to you, you can always reply, say "not tonight" or simply let it go.

Safety is never a premium feature

1. Write a clear interest for tonight. It gives people an easy reason to message you.

4. Make your first messages count. Mention their interest for tonight and suggest something specific.
5. Go to an event. Meeting people in a group is a great way to start conversations. Learn about open and invite-only events.

Common questions

Do I need a card to sign up?

No. You create your account with e-mail or Google. You only pay if you choose to buy an extra.

Is there a trial that turns into a subscription?

No. There are no trials and no subscriptions. Free is simply free.

Can I take a break without paying?

Yes. You can simply stop opening the app for a while, and your activity hint will fade from "Online" to something like "Active today" on its own. Hiding your profile completely for 1, 7 or 30 days is the optional paid extra, and deleting your account is always free.

What happens when I run out of new chats?

Nothing breaks. You can keep replying in every open chat, keep browsing the feed and keep joining events. Your free new chats come back at local midnight, or you can buy an optional pack if you would rather not wait.

Who can join?

Anyone 18 or older. YesTonite is available as an app and on the web, and your search preferences are the same on both.
